Questions, answered

What is a Life Path Number?

Your Life Path Number is the most important number in numerology. It is calculated from your full date of birth and describes your natural strengths, your challenges and the kind of path that feels meaningful to you.

How do I calculate my Life Path Number?

Reduce your birth month, day and year to single digits separately (keeping 11, 22 and 33), then add them together and reduce again. For example, May 14, 1990: month 5, day 1 + 4 = 5, year 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 → 10 → 1. Then 5 + 5 + 1 = 11, a master number.

What are master numbers?

11, 22 and 33 are called master numbers. They are not reduced, because numerologists see them as carrying a stronger, more demanding version of the energies of 2, 4 and 6.

What is a Personal Year?

Your Personal Year is a nine-year cycle based on your birthday and the current year. It shows the theme of the year for you, from new beginnings (1) to completion (9).

Why do other calculators give a different number?

Some calculators simply add all the digits of the date together. That can hide master numbers. We use the traditional method of reducing the month, day and year separately first, which most numerologists recommend.
